Kang soo kyung

Soo kyung Kang was born in seoul, South Korea, in 1990. Since she was a child, soo kyung Kang was particularly interested in playing the violin and art of violin making. In Korea, she graduated from ‘Chung-Ang’ university majored in violin performance in 2013. She enrolled in the International School of Violin making in Cremona in 2014 and completed her diploma in 2017 under the guidance of masters Voltini and Amighetti. After finishing the school she worked in Luca Baratto’s workshop, who worked at Carlson&Neumann for 12 years. With Luca Baratto, she studies in the techniques of restoration until 2023. In 2021 she participated in the Triennale international violin making competition in Cremona receiving ‘Giorgio cè’ varnish prize. In 2022 Mittenwald violin making competition, her violin arrived in 4th place and 5th place with viola. In 2023 she returned from Italy to Korea, opened her workshop ’sk string’ in Seoul dedicating herself to restoration and violin making, working along the classical Italian tradition.
